Things Made From Scratch
Welcome to Things Made From Scratch
Where the cookies are warm, the drinks are strong(ish), and nothing is ever store-bought unless we’re in survival mode (which happens a lot).
Hey there! You’ve just landed in a judgment-free zone for people who love homemade food, but also love shortcuts when the day’s gone sideways. I’m all about creating delicious recipes from scratch, wrangling family life with a wooden spoon in one hand and a cocktail (or coffee... or wine) in the other.
And because I clearly didn’t have enough going on, I’ve also developed an obsession with trying new recipes, especially the ones no sane person attempts on a Tuesday night. Yep, I’m the person who finds a 47-step croissant tutorial and thinks, “Sure, that seems normal.” If it looks impossible, requires proofing overnight, and uses a baking technique from a French monk in 1823, I’m probably already elbows-deep in flour.
On the menu around here:
🍳 Recipes that impress without the stress – Cozy dinners, indulgent desserts, and snacks your kids might share with you.
🍷 Good sips for good moods – From coffee to cocktails to “this is just soda, I swear,” we’ve got a little something for everyone.
🔥 Unhinged cooking challenges – New recipe tests, wild experiments, and maybe a few confessions about deciding to make homemade marshmallows at 9PM.
👩👧 Mom life, unfiltered – The messy, magical, hilarious moments that make this homemade life one big, beautiful adventure.
🎉 Hosting without losing your mind – Easy ideas that make it look like you’ve got it all together (even if your kid is eating under the table).
So if you’re into real food, real life, and convincing yourself “it’ll only take an hour” (spoiler: it will not), you’re officially one of us. Grab your drink of choice, tie on that apron (or just wipe your hands on your leggings), and let’s make something delicious from scratch, with love, and probably a little sass.
Peppermint Bark & Poor Self-Control
With Christmas around the corner, that can only mean one thing: peppermint bark season
For the Love of Ramen…
But to me? It was a revelation. The kind of dish that makes your eyes go wide mid-bite while you whisper, "What is this magic?!” (Spoiler: it wasn’t Amortentia, but it might as well have been.)
Whipped Cream
Light, fluffy, slightly sweet, and miles better than the canned stuff.
Skincare Sunday
Let’s talk about skincare :)
A Slow Cooker Favorite
Just set it in the morning, go about your day, and come home to the smell of dinner basically making itself.
Mama’s Spaghetti
This isn’t your nonna’s sauce. But it might be your new favorite.

Family Movie Night: The Parent Trap
Family movie nights are a simple thing, but they’re also everything. A bit of food, a favorite film, and a whole lot of heart. And when they come with a big surprise like a trip across the pond? Even better.
Plotting in the Garden, Vol. 1
Welcome to my gardening series, “Plotting in the Garden,” where I bravely (read: recklessly) attempt to prove that I might not have a green thumb, but hey—miracles happen every day.
I Kneaded This: My Bread Redemption Arc
Bread has been my final baking boss. The Big Bad. The yeasty beast that simply Would. Not. Rise.

Moms, let’s talk about self-care for a second.
